In the Import-Export Process, between the Buyer (Importer) and the Seller (Exporter), Customs Department in both, the Exporter's Country & the Importer's Country, is responsible for checking the declarations made by the exporter and the importer and verifying if the process is as per applicable laws.

In the exporting country customs department checks:
  • if what is being exported is legally allowed to be exported from the country and to the country where it being sent.

  • if what is being exported is actually what has been declared in the documents by the exporter.

  • if any government incentives claimed by the exporter on the value of export-items is correctly calculated.

  • if value of goods being exported are being reported correctly to the Central Bank.

  • If there is any claim which is being made by an exporter regarding NO COMMERCIAL VALUE or Export under ATA Carnet being correctly recorded for later reference.

  • if the import of goods can legally be allowed and what will be applicable customs duties and taxes. 

  • If taxes have been collected from the importer before the goods are allowed entry in to the country.
